About NYC Modern Home
Furnishing chosen for New York apartments, where the constraint is always the floorplan.
NYC Modern Home is a home furnishing shop on West 72nd Street. We stock for apartments where the hallway is thirty-four inches wide, the bedroom has no ceiling fixture, and the only outlet is behind the sofa. Those constraints decide the entire range: side tables under twenty inches, shelving that climbs the wall instead of spreading across the floor, and lamps that bring their own charging port.
Because of that, dimensions are the first thing on every product page rather than the last. Width, depth and height for the assembled item, and the boxed dimensions separately, because the question that matters on a fourth-floor walk-up is whether the carton makes the turn on the stairs.
We also stock the layer that makes a rented apartment feel settled — washable rugs that survive radiator dust, throws, sunburst mirrors, and small accents like coaster sets and desk clocks. None of it requires the landlord's permission.
How we work
- What we stock: Lighting, washable rugs and textiles, vertical shelving and storage, narrow tables, and wall decor and accents.
- Dimensions first: Assembled and boxed measurements are listed on every applicable product page. Measure your gap before you order.
- Assembly: Bookcases, corner shelves, coat racks and most tables arrive flat-packed with hardware. Lamps, rugs, mirrors and textiles arrive ready to use.
- Where we are: 119 W 72nd St PMB 219, on the Upper West Side. Every order ships — there is no counter collection at checkout.
What you will find here
- Lighting — Ceramic table lamps and floor lamps with built-in charging — warm light for rooms without ceiling fixtures.
- Rugs & Textiles — Washable area rugs and fleece throws that survive radiator dust and a walk-up staircase.
- Shelving & Storage — Corner shelves, tree bookcases and blanket ladders that use vertical space instead of floor space.
- Tables — Narrow side tables, nightstands and tiered accent tables measured for tight walkways.
- Wall Decor & Accents — Sunburst mirrors, decorative boxes, incense holders and desk clocks — the finishing layer.
